Twirl. Spin. Smile. Repeat.

I l-o-v-e formals! Getting ready. Taking pictures. Dancing. ALL of the above.

So when my friend showed me this website – I was pumped! The organization is called “Donate My Dress” – it’s found at www.donatemydress.org. This is the first national network to bring together local dress drive organizations across the country – check it out! To find a location bin near you simply click on your home state. I just loved the lines on their webpage: “We help you find one in your area so that once you’ve had your dream night, you can give another girl hers.”

Sometimes I hear about organizations like this and think “that’s so cool!” – but I don’t do anything about it. Either I’m too lazy, too busy, or maybe a combo of the two. So I’m challenging myself  (and ya’ll) to do something about this if you feel your heartstrings being pulled to give one of your old dresses away. One challenge for me lately has been learning to not cling so tightly to my earthly possessions. After all, they’re not really mine anyway – they’re things God has given me to be a good steward of for His glory! I so quickly forget that and feel entitled to the stuff that I “own,” when it’s really all God’s anyway. We’ve been blessed that we might be able to bless others. Formal dresses aren’t ones that we wear over and over again to church on Sundays. We wear them for a few occasions, so why not give them away?

There’s nothing like wearing a beautiful dress to make a girl feel like the precious and beautiful princess that she is. (I especially love the dresses that you can twirl in – so fun!) What a gift that we could give some dear sister!

Be sure to check out their page on Facebook to see a pic of the dress that Taylor Swift gave away!

Matthew 6:19-21 – “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
