Zit Zappers

By Kirsten Wilson

We’ve all had one of “those” days. You know, the one where you have a party, class picture, school dance, and looking back at you in the mirror is a huge zit. Fear no more! Here are a few home remedies to zap those annoying zits and get on with your day.

The Method: Toothpaste

Apply a dab of toothpaste on the zit and leave overnight.

Why it could work: The toothpaste dehydrates the pimple.

The Method: Vitamins

While you can take Vitamin A & E orally, you can also open the capsule of Vitamin E and apply it directly on your skin. Personally, I have used this method to help heal scars and it has worked for me.

Why it could work: Vitamin E is known to help overall skin health and can help treat low cases of acne.

The Method: Baby Powder

Apply baby powder over the zit and leave overnight.

Why it could work: The baby powder dries out the zit.

The Method: Honey

Apply honey on the zit and leave on for a few minutes. Wash off with water.

Why it could work: The honey kills the bacteria.

The Method: Papaya

Take the juice of a raw papaya and apply it on the zit.

Why it could work: The juice helps heal the zit.

The Method: Garlic

Rub raw garlic on the zit or if you can handle it, you can also eat three seeds of raw garlic once a day for a month.

Why it could work: The garlic seeds purify the blood, which will help prevent future breakouts.

The Method: Orange Peel

Make a paste by grinding the orange peel in some water and apply it on your zit.

Why it could work: It helps dry out the zit.

Zits form when oil and bacteria get trapped in your skin’s pores. To help prevent zits make sure to clean your face thoroughly in the morning and at night. It is also important to make sure to wash off your makeup every night so that your make up does not clog up your pores!

Thanks for these other ideas for getting rid of pimples!

  2. Katie Mosier says:

Mix natural yogurt and fine oatmeal to a think paste, apply and leave to dry. After 10-15 minuets, wash the face with lukewarm water and pat dry. Afterwards apply some moisturizing lotion all over the face. This works like a charm for me.
