Often friends ask me to suggest a good worship CD. Through the years I have found some amazing music, but by far there is no one currently putting out better worship music than Sovereign Grace Music. Since ’97 they have put out more than 20 CDs. There are more than 20 artists! Allow me to explain – Sovereign Grace isn’t a band, but a church writing songs for other churches. One of the greatest things about Sovereign Grace is the solid biblical base for their music. It’s a totally different feel of music simply because there is no desire to be famous or even make a name for themselves, but rather to sing music that glorifies Christ. For those unfamiliar with Sovereign Grace, I highly suggest Come Weary Saints, which came out in April of 2008. This isn’t your mom and pop’s music, but there is no doubt that lyrically it is like reading straight from the Bible. Songs like, “Oh the Deep Deep Love” and “Through the Precious Blood” are beautiful and low key, while “Joy in the Morning” and “Glorious” keep an upbeat sound. But hey, don’t take my word for it…listen for yourself!
